Well it didn't go down quiet like I expected but the end result was the same. I feel a larger attachment to my co-workers then I'd expect but James pretty much lost any respect I had for him on the last day. I'm reminded of the saying "but he's the idiot that hired you" and I must say it's true, but it must have been an accident - a fluke if you will.
So everyone is asking what my plans are now... I don't know. I'm ready for a holiday but I should get out some resumes now so that I can enjoy my holiday and return to job offers - hopefully not the lack of. I've been considering several changes....
1. Get out of IT all together - I really would like my hobby back but I feel that now with what I've experienced the hobby will never be the same. 2. Switch to software development - This might require some schooling, I understand concepts like LUA better then a lot of people with my sysadmin background but as far as things like game development I'd need to pursue some math studies. In addition I think I really want to just pick one language and be very good at it then the spread - the unfortunate part there is unless you know where you're going to work you don't know which is going to be used. So if I spend a long time learning C# but end up with job interviews for java or something..? Although for the last 1.5 years I've been focusing on Linux I think I want to change. Business wise Windows is where it is at - even with the high registration costs. 3. Stay a sysadmin - but narrow the focus - this being that I should switch to debian at home and learn it thru-and-thru. But I like Gentoo - maybe I should help with GLEP 19 instead - its a project in jeopardy.
I might just live off the system for a while... I qualify for EI - a lil-supplement income

I was doing one of those "useless" online tests and got asked What turns you off? with the optins
Lack of ambition, Meekness and timidity, A lack of energy, Lack of intellectual pursuits, Not caring about one's appearance... Is it wrong to not have an opinion here. If it were my test I'd choose other and set the value to 'aggressive'; for today anyway. I went with meekness and timidity but frankly thats bunk, in no way does it represent the most true. I love this bumper sticker I saw ... "Fuck world peace, try using your turn signal"
